Richard Hamilton

2019 Richard Hamilton 'Gida's' Rosé

Richard Hamilton 'Gida's' Rosé has a delicate yet flavoursome palate. Afresh clean perfumed nose with aromas of freshly picked strawberries raspberries. It is dry in style with a creamy texture that finishes with soft bright acidity.

"Gida" is the name to which Aglaia Hamilton, Richard Hamilton's mother, was most commonly known. Gida became a vineyard owner in McLaren Vale in 1949 and was a director of the Albury "Border Morning Mail' from 1957-1994.

Merlot from our sandy block in McLaren Vale has been allowed a few hours of skin contact to extract some colour from the skins, then pressed. The free run juice was settled and clarified then cold fermented with an aromatic yeast to retain its fruitiness. Storage in contact with its yeast lees for an extended time has provided the texture required for a dry style of wine
