2019 'The Hills' Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc

The fruit for this wine was sourced from two Adelaide Hills vineyards at Charleston and Medows. At 400m above sea level on free draining loam soils over limestone their coll easterly aspect allowed us to capture the classic tropical fruit and cut grass aromas for which Sauvignon Blanc is renowned. Dry is style, this wine can be enjoyed now with pan fried salmon or an aged cheddar.

Fragrant, tending tropical fruit nose showing peach blossom, passionfruit and a hint of apple. Flavoursome peach and feijoa fruit palate - vibrant, persistent and finishing clean refreshing and zesty.   Wonderful as an aperitif. Try it with oysters, or a platter of marinated feta, vinaigrette green vegetables, and charcuterie This wine is best enjoyed as a young fresh style demonstrating primary fruit characters.

Following pressing, the juice was inoculated with an aromatic yeast with just over half the wine allowed to ferment in well seasoned French oak hogsheads primarily to add texture to the palate but without imparting excessive oak impact. Dry in style, this is a delightfully fresh wine with persistent texture. The Adelaide Hills region is renown for producing outstanding Sauvignon Blanc. Richard Hamilton Wines has sourced fruit to complement its range of McLaren Vale red wines
