2019 Warner's Corner Cleanskin Export Dozen

Designed for the Export market by Leconfield's Senior Winemaker, Paul Gorgon, the 2019 Warner's Corner is an elegant Cabernet Sauvignon from our Coonawarra vineyards.

Warner's Corner Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted in a fine medium bodied style in which fruit plays the dominant role with oak in the background. Tannins are designed to be round and fine to make a style which is very approachable on release. Following fermentation and malo-lactic fermentation, the wine was racked into predominantly used barrels for 16 months aging. The wine was reworked several times before ultimately being prepared to bottle.

J.L. Warner was the owner of the property which was bought by Sydney Hamilton to become the home of Leconfield from 1974. He was noted as an excellent breeder of sheep and has a pavilion at the local showgrounds named after him. The road past Leconfield is known locally as Warner's Corner. It is in honour of his contribution to the Coonawarra district that we have named this wine.
